WebSteel project team completed the trip to Southern Europe
PK Vesta announces the completion of the trip to Southern Europe (Greece ) After the grand tours in Western Europe and North America, WebSteel project participants visited the second largest in number and economically important city in Greece after Athens - Thessaloniki. Most of the city's population are employed in small and medium-sized enterprises , as well as in the service sector and public sector.
Around Thessaloniki we were visited the major industrial areas and shopping malls with the purpose of studying the overall appearance of pre-fabricated steel buildings (hangars, manufacturing plants, stores, warehouses, offices, etc.). We also visited several agricultural steel buildings under construction (barns, piggeries, poultry houses).
The Greeks like to use a lot of decorative elements, canopies and sophisticated trim. Because of the low snow loads many canopies had a ledge about 2-3 meters long, which is normally impossible in Russian conditions (different climatic zones) The walls and roofs embellished separate sections in different colors. The parapets with the different levels of heights were common. In general, all pre-fabricated buildings made a favorable impression.
