2013 WebSteel System Upgrade Results
PK "Vesta" sums up the modernization of the innovative patented online system WebSteel for 2013 and thanks all the participants in this project for the development of a unique application in the non-residential construction industry in Russia and the CIS.
Since the start of the project, about 2 years have passed, during which the system was substantially finalized and improved. The entire interface of the online platform has been translated into English and presented in the United States to potential partners and investors. In 2013, 19,756 online applications were created and 16,333 active users were registered.
What are the features of the WebSteel system?
Instant and free calculation of the cost of the building without the need for registration in your account.
Free 3D visualization of a prefabricated building online based on Flash technology.
Free automatic generation of a set of documents (including a commercial offer, technical specifications, basic sketches, contract and invoice) without the need for registration in your personal account.
Accessibility of the system to any person anywhere in the world.
The spread of the concept of creative design, allowing everyone to show their creative abilities when creating an individual image of the building.
Particular attention was paid to improving the calculated core of the system and introducing new parameters into the interface:
The accuracy of calculating the metal consumption of prefabricated buildings based on cold-formed galvanized profiles has been increased, which has reduced the price of a lightweight metal frame by about 17%.
The terms of designing and manufacturing of prefabricated buildings Z-Top were reduced (from 4 to 2 weeks).
Improved the accuracy of calculating shipping costs depending on the type of technology.
Fully implemented EPR-system that connects all the main departments of the company in a single information field. EPR and CRM systems in the WebSteel structure allow the client to track all stages of the application.
The most important innovations:
1. Digitization of additional sales markets. At the moment, the WebSteel system serves customers throughout Russia and in some CIS countries (Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan).

2. The introduction of new parameters for the selection of construction technologies: LMK, LSGF and a hybrid scheme (a combination of ferrous metal and galvanized profiles). The intellectual component of the analytical core has been improved, which recommends the optimal type of technology depending on the selected parameters. If desired, the client can choose another technology, which will automatically be taken into account when calculating the metal consumption.

3. Implementation and improvement of the algorithm for calculating metal consumption based on different types of structures.

4. The introduction of a new system of basic visualization, which allows the client to quickly and easily imagine the image of their future complete building.
5. Introduction of the main types of crane beams (3.2, 5 and 10 tons) with automatic consideration of the changed metal consumption.

6. Introduction of new design work parameters. Now the client can select specific sections of projects in seconds, specify the number and format of documents (PDF, DWG or 3D model). This is especially convenient when coordinating project documentation with the local administration.

7. Updating the interface in step 7. There was a free display of sketches of a complete building, additional tips and icons for easy navigation.
